Welcome to the Captiol in Washington DC
Welcome to Washington DC, also known as the District of Columbia, where all your capitol is used…pun intended.
First things first- breakfast!
Founding Father’s was recommended to us and it did not disappoint. Everyone recommended coming early and we definitely did not take that seriously. My friend, Emily, and I had to wait almost an hour, so we took advantage and walked around until we were called.
It’s time!! The food was SO good! I had the french toast and my friend had the waffles. Both had strawberries and whip cream. Best way to start the morning!
Well I’m sure you know or now you will, Washington DC is known for its museums. They are ALL FREE and a great majority are on one strip. It makes it easier depending on the time of season you’re there, because the lines can get very long. But here are a couple of my favorites:
National Museum American History
Smithsonian American Art Museum
These museums left me with an amazing impression, especially since I had done some research prior to figure out which would be best to go to. A few are missing but the lines were just SO long, especially since we traveled during spring break and there were tons of field trips. If you like museums as much as I do, especially at Washington DC, I would research them and only do a couple a day or even try for all in one day, at least you’ll try giving a fair amount of time in each.
Other Historical Sites
Here’s a break before getting into more crowds… standing from the Lincoln Memorial and from the museums strip with the Washington Monument.
Excited for More Lines?
I promise, this one will be worth it. Especially if you have a sweet tooth, like me. Guess what!! GEORGETOWN CUPCAKES!!
One line I’ll never get tired of… even if we had our uber driver wait for us before heading to our next stop. True driver!
Cheers to taking my capitol, DC!
Until next time…
