We All Need A Quick Photoshoot In Our Hometown

Before I get into the adventure part, I wanted to shoutout a friend, Michelle Gonzalez, for coming with me. Nowadays you may know her more because she’s famous in the photography world (I highly recommend her) but I do cherish our friendship. You know that friend that you don’t have to see often to be close, but when you see each other, it’s like there was no time lost? That’s her!

I wanted to introduce her to a little seasonal piece of Miami I love that only opens from November to April. And of course, she brought her camera, so you know what that means! Pictures everywhere!!

It was around December time, that we explored Knaus Berry Farm and the Sunflower Field. The best advice I can give to someone visiting Knaus Berry Farm is to be there VERY early, because the lines get LONG. And also, they only accept cash (at least since I’ve been). So that’s huge, because if you’re anything like me, I prefer swiping my card. As for the Sunflower Field, I would come in closed toed shoes because it can get a little dirty. Or if you like wearing open toed shoes like me, carry wipes in the car to clean yourself.

Since we were there mostly for hanging out and taking photos, I didn’t really purchase the cinnamon rolls but I HIGHLY recommend buying them, at least once in your life. They’re SO good and they’ll definitely make your tummy happy by the dozen. *pun intended*

We went strawberry picking in Knaus Berry and it was the cutest little area. It was actually my first time picking strawberries because the last time I went, the field was SO packed. Can you tell my excitement? It’s the little things in life!

I absolutely love strawberries and they were so fresh! She also captured some great angles of me, so that was a plus.

As we were driving to the Sunflower Field, we stopped by some aesthetically pleasing plants. Michelle took some nice portraits! I felt like I was taking my quinceañera pictures all over again. Look at her talent!

We then walked across where we parked and there they were… my favorite flowers ever– sunflowers! It’s such a cute area and I appreciated the weather. Thank you, Mother Nature! I was absolutely fascinated by Michelle’s photo taking skills and the warm tones she used for editing.

The Sunflower Field isn’t as easy to find as I thought it’d be, so here are some tips:

  • Both Knaus Berry Farm and the Sunflower Field are a super cute date idea or even if you wanted to take photos for any occasion.
  • The farm does have it’s own location in google maps but the Sunflower Field doesn’t. So here’s a little secret, I would type in “Felicia’s Farms” for the Sunflower Field, but it’s not that one! (It’s privately owned and gated.) It’s the field across that one that you can take photos at and buy some flowers if you want!

Thank you again, Michelle, for coming on this little adventure! I absolutely loved every photo and introducing you to a little piece of home.

If you need further explanation for how to arrive, please don’t hesitate to contact me. I would love to help in any way!

XOXO, Mel
