Top 8 Hole in the Walls in Illinois

I’ve compiled a list of hole in the walls close to the Naperville area in Illinois and had so much fun! There’s so many different foods to explore and I’m excited to share them with you!

Quiobo is a Mexican restaurant. We ordered small quesadillas, tacos, and chips with salsa. No regrets here! Check out the vibe with my photos.

H Mart is an Asian mart with a relatively small food court. I ordered from the Chinese stand and the food did not disappoint. There’s a little seating area by each section of food for you to enjoy with friends and family too.

Happy Lamb Hot Pot is a Chinese all-you-can-eat hot pots! You check off a list of what you want. They bring it raw and you cook it in a small cooking space on the table. It was SO much food but very worth it!

Aloha Poke Co is a traditional Hawaiian dish location. The seafood is incredible and very healthy! It’s essentially a mix of seasoned raw fish in a bowl. At this restaurant, it’s known for their “make your owl poke bowl” similar to chipotle’s style of making food.

Everdine’s is American food-based. They’re extremely famous for their grilled cheese sandwiches. My absolute favorite so far is the mac and cheese grilled cheese. SO YUM! They insert moist and cheesy mac n cheese in the toast and then you can order a side, mine are usually chips.

Hugo’s Frog Bar & Fish House is a Chicago must do. It’s an upscale seafood restaurant with fresh fish delivery every day. It has a very modern vibe and it was so cute. I also recommend having a reservation because it tends to be a popular place!

JR’s Place is an American comfort food kind of place. We had brunch there in memory of the spots that my boyfriend’s family went to for every birthday or school field trip. They have this table that a group of people sit at, play games, read the newspaper, and just chill. The table has the most odd, unmatched chairs sitting in front of the cashiers table. They also have a bowling spot, but it was closed when we went. Probably because of covid.

Moretti’s Riverside in McHenry is by the water. It really reminded me of the spots I have back home in Miami, so it was nice to eat there with friends. We shared appetizers and just enjoyed the company. They also had fun drinks to try, so we got the waitress to surprise us with whatever she wanted to make.

Take a ride, grab a bite and discover adventure!
