On the Go Rhode Island Breakfast Spots
We did a little soul searching and found our sweet tooth. The cafes or bakeries around town really outdid themselves and the fine desserts were *chef’s kiss.* Some of them were even Pinterest finds, also very photogenic inside!
PV Donut
We absolutely loved this donut shop. So many vibrant colors and exciting new flavors each month. They have some seasonal flavors as well to spice up your life, as well as merch to take home with you. The branding of the shop really gave that welcoming feel. And they have this cute picnic table stop across the street to sit at if you wanted to.
I loved the cinnamon toast crunch donut! SO good!!
Corner Cafe
I don’t know if they got their name from being placed in the corner or it’s actually called Corner Cafe for a reason. Regardless of that, you need a reservation, but you have to place your name when you arrive. It’s actually a cute spot and very limited seating.
The owner or manager welcomed us and was working with the employees on their busy brunch morning. It was a GREAT morning to start off with their special coffee and large breakfast! Worth the wait honestly. But parking is hard to find at that time.
Village Hearth Bakery & Cafe
They opened during the pandemic and have been thriving ever since. It’s a woman-owned small business. They’ve created a community in Jamestown and everyone knows everyone. It’s an amazing support system!
Stephanie and Lindsay Haigh moved to Rhode Island from Atlanta to buy the 20-year-old artisan bakery in January 2021. “We are going to have fun with this,” Stephanie added. They wanted to get out of their corporate careers and do something that fueled their passion, Stephanie said. Lindsay had begun cooking and catering and that would be at the heart of their new life.
Providence Journal
They were both there when we went. I really felt the community in the shop and the town as a whole. It’s a true hole in the wall and a stop worth going to.
We also might’ve heard that they’re hiring! At least as of March 2022.
The Nitro Bar
Relatively new coffee shop, several locations in Rhode Island, and the ambiance is one I’d like to be in more often. They get their coffee beans shipped and do everything themselves. Everything is in house. They even have artwork in one of their building’s to give some taste to their shop. Their google reviews are also quite nice! So that’s always a plus.
PS the strawberry mix they added is a little sour. So we took some off as we ate it, because it felt like we were eating a sour smoothie on our bread. I know it sounds weird, but the bread definitely leveled the taste for us.
Pastiche Fine Desserts
Needed a quick midnight snack, so we landed at this French spot. Parking is pretty weird on this street, there’s lots of street parking, but it’s also residential. I would stop here if you’re only doing a quick stop or really leaving your car for the whole day.
The cannoli was cookies n cream, and SO good!!! Too sweet for my sister’s taste but hit the spot for me. It was also pretty yum for breakfast or pre-breakfast. You’ll thank me later.
We were in the biggest food coma every time we had a few desserts. We also tried to make the snacks last all day so we could really savor every bite.
