First Watch at Orlando’s Foods; Get It?
I feel like all I do on my blog is talk about food, and I’m ok with that!
To be honest, whenever I visit Florida, I never think to talk about it because it’s home. So I’m grateful I get to travel to other parts of the state to experience it as a whole… aka not only Miami adventures. There’s something about Florida that just keeps me going.
Let’s quit the sentimental feelings and get on with it!
We went to Orlando for a wedding and had to explore the restaurants and cafes to mostly just relive some memories and make new ones. I’m going to tell you about one in particular that I fell in love with because the food is just THAT good. I even found a location in Illinois.
Coffee Shops
Craft and Common
Tyler was actually very proud of his finding because he knew I would find it aesthetically pleasing to be in here. It gives off such Florida vibes with the neutral tones, the leaves, and just the atmosphere in general. It was also walking distance from our hotel, so that was nice!
Keke’s Breakfast Cafe
You have to come with such an empty tummy because the serving sizes are HUGE. Lots of to-go plates taken here. Everyone was munching and chatting it up, so obviously a place to go to again with the family!
Ace Cafe Orlando
I really just wanted to explore a coffee shop and I feel like I got better.
It was that kind of place to have a mini gallery or museum inside with facts about racing motorcycles and cars. They even had a showing of their cars the day we went. It felt like a decorated warehouse inside, but hit the spot and exceeded expectations. Also very affordable!
First Watch
This has been one of my all time breakfast spots ever! I even found one in Illinois and have probably already been there a few times. I even bought their famous $7 loaf of bread, because it’s SO good!
I had a mutual friend recommend this spot, forever recommending it to everyone else!!!
Din Din Spots
Tori Tori
The bourbon was everything!!! We were feeling a little fancy for date night. And of course, a side of dumplings always makes the night better. *Just Mel things*
We were actually car-less for the first few days of the trip, so everything was walking distance from our hotel. Very convenient!
Danina’s Trattoria
Italian places always remind me of large family outings- which we did. There was even a dinner party next to us that were singing and including us. It was cute!
The charcuterie looking board gave me all the best photos moments too. *Don’t judge* I ordered gnocchi and gelato too!!!
World of Beer
One of the places that allows you to have beers from wherever. Back in the day, World of Beer was nationwide- it still is but there’s not as many as before– and you got to choose a variety of beers according to the country they have in display. There’s even an app to keep track of the beer that you’ve had and that you can have in the future. It’s pretty neat.
Dessert to-go
Insomnia Cookies
I feel like the hype was unreal. I had just eaten dinner and I really wanted something sweet. Because this was on my list of places to visit when I was here, I made it a point to find a dinner spot close by, so everyone thought it was a coincidence. *sneaky*
The cookies are insanely sweet and large. So I was only feeling like one or two. I knew I’d be going to an event shortly, so I had to cut my intake to a minimum.
Definitely a place I’d come to again– but this time, on an empty stomach!
Orlando was so much fun. I feel like every time we usually come, it’s for Disney things. I’m grateful we were able to do things outside of Walt Disney World adventures because I got to feel like a local for once.
We explored a wide range of locations just to try other cafes and dinner spots. I truly had a blast making this a weekend of a lifetime!
