Beer Made Me Do It, Milwaukee
Wherever there’s a brewery, we’re there. They’re always designed so differently and each have their own personality in all cities. This time around, we went beer hopping to a few places, because as you know, one of the two things that Milwaukee is known for is its beer.
Milwaukee in a nutshell:
- The typewriter was invented here
- Its Major League Brewers and fans, of course
- Famous breweries *duh*
- Known as the Cream City
Time to be a Milwaukeean
At least throughout this post…
Wizard Norks Brewing
There’s a lot of places that have like an underground entrance like this one. It reminds me of a speakeasy kind of way to go into a restaurant. I’m not sure anyone knew we were really coming here, but we found it somehow right?!
O’Lydia’s Bar and Grill
We went into this bar thinking there would be a spot with large seating, because every time we chose a table, we had friends come. We ended up taking the whole outside bar strip. When in Wisconsin, cheese curds are a must! I think the potato skins were actually better.
Great Lakes Distillery and Tasting Room
Pit stop for a good time and good beer selection. Everyone stopped at the bar, had a beer, and left. We sat in the back because it had the longest booth. Are you the type of person to prefer the booth or regular seating?
Smoke Shack
Getting the briskets were the highlight of the foodie items. I think the cornbread is the best in the midwest, but that’s just me things.
Even in the freezing cold, we sat outside by the fire pit. They had a mini fire pit in each table, like hibachi but not cookable. If that makes sense?
Here’s some of my favorite beer puns to add to your collection:
- Wish you were beer
- My Buds are Wiser than yours
- The only kind of six pack I need
- You are brewtiful
- Love is Ale we need
Going into breweries just hits different. I also went to a few other ones last time I came to Wisconsin. Feel free to explore!
