The Best Part of Boston is the Food; Am I Right?
I asked all my friends and family for recommendations on Boston, and I kid you not, restaurants were the most of the bunch! I’m not complaining…
Just in case you love fun facts about Boston too or even just exploring all day, I got you!
The Heart of Downtown
James Hook & Co
I freaking loved this place. They had the best lobsters ever! I have actually been on a phase of loving lobster and crab, so this really hit the spot. It’s such a homey spot because it’s in a trailer with the outdoorsy space behind the restaurant. I had the lobster bisque with clam chowder. SO good!
Bova’s Bakery
One of the top bakeries to visit alongside Mike’s Pastries. Both have lines around the corner, but we thought we’d give Bova’s a try. We met some locals in the line and my friends recommended the Florentine cannoli. SO GOOD! I loved seeing how they created these masterpieces and just being able to munch on the cannoli. Definitely a place I’d come to again!
Boston Public Market
We walked in for coffee and just to walk around. The farmer’s market happens on Saturdays and is cash only. There is so much to offer throughout that one strip through the snacks and the people. I loved being able to pass through and just enjoy the scene. It’s all so colorful and vibrant!
Union Oyster House
The restaurant itself is very historic. They have this frame of when a bunch of celebrities visited with their names on the side of the plaque. We sat there guessing who was who before being seated.
Besides New Orleans, these oysters are a MUST! Seafood overall is a must and their cornbread!!! The cornbread is actually free and they serve it while you’re waiting for your food. We ordered oysters to enjoy and other fish foodies.
Regina’s Pizzeria
In the whole entire trip, all Tyler wanted was pizza. Who wants pizza in Boston?! Beats me.
Of course, to make him happy, we asked my friends what their favorite spot is. It’s Regina’s Pizzeria!!! We sat down in good timing because the restaurant is relatively small. It’s truly unique and we loved the homemade Italian pizza! One pizza wasn’t enough, so we had two.
Sam Adam’s Taproom
One of the most recommended spots and I think I just fell in love with the spot. The line was long before going in, but totally worth it! The taproom was in the center of pretty much everything and walking distance to basically all the spots we wanted to hit.
Becoming friends with the bartender is always fun too because they recommend local beers and have fun with it.
On the Go Kind of Spots
Tatte Bakery & Cafe
One of those coffee shops everyone has to go to because it’s so aesthetically pleasing. We loved the breakfast and the experience too. I think Tyler’s highlight was the pistachio sprinkled croissant. Of course, I went basic and got the avocado toast.
Cheers Bar
Based on the show, we went to the bar to experience it as a whole too. It felt like we were in a speakeasy, because we had to go through a restaurant, a shop, a hotel kind of spot, and into the bar. The comfort food was much needed too! We also got the beer mugs and stuffed it in my bag for the night. SO cute!
Tasty Burger
Open 24/7, this hit the spot! The burgers were insanely juicy. It’s like a grab and go kind of restaurant. We walked into it and loved it. Best to go burgers ever.
Trillium Brewing
Around Time Out Market, we found this cute brewery. We watched a game, which I’m completely blanking out on, and just talked over happy hour. We love having local beers and good company.
Loretta’s Last Call
I really thought I would be going line dancing and I was completely wrong. I kind of miss it because it was always so fun to learn dances and make a fool of yourself with friends. At this bar, people just stood around and listened to the live music. We celebrated one of our friend’s birthdays, so it was nice to chat and dance with them!
Boston, you are incredible! We walked around all areas and really explored the foodie parts too. We probably ate more than we exercised through the city, but all worth it!!!
