Leadership in the Music City
The Music City has always been a beautiful place. The honor society that I’m a part of chose it for its conference spot and my excitement grew because I had visited prior and knew what to expect of Nashville.
Omicron Delta Kappa (ODK) is an honor society that allows students to lead through service. When I was first introduced to it, I wanted to do more and so I did… but first the conference!
It’s always an honor to meet such incredible leaders across the nation, especially if you get to bring the future executive board members with you. Thank you, Melanie and Vanessa! We met those involved in headquarters and represented our university well.
Throughout the few days we were there, we spoke to many different leaders and trustee members. We learned of a variety of leadership styles and the process of a more successful ODK family. As the 50th Biennial Convention, it was amazing.
We were also able to explore the city a few nights with new friends. Roaming around the streets exploring and meeting other people felt right. Our group was honestly amazing. I’ve still kept in touch with some and am currently leading with others through headquarters.
Nashville was honestly so beautiful- the countryside, the people and its natural beauties. Very aesthetic!
There’s definitely way more to explore but in a few days and a conference, there’s only so much I can see. Nashville is a must-go type of place and I’d love to hear about your experience!
